Minister posts and titles give huge bonuses to construction, research and resource-gathering speed.
The main trick with the minister boost is that it only applies at the exact moment you press the start button. If you started a 3-5 day building upgrade first and got the minister post afterwards, the time won’t be reduced.
Different servers may have different criteria for appointing ministers — check with your alliance or ask the server’s king directly.
Main titles

Minister of Construction (speeds up building by 50%, research by 25% of base time).

Minister of Development (speeds up research by 50%, building by 25%).

Minister of War (increases training speed and capacity by 20%, letting you train soldiers faster).
Applying for a minister post
To apply for a minister post, tap your avatar, then the server number, and pick the position you want.
Important!!!
Appointments usually last 5 minutes, so it’s worth checking beforehand that you have enough resources for what you’re planning to do.
You can reapply for the same post after a 30-minute interval; for a different post, right after stepping down from the current one.
If a post already has 50/50 applications, wait for the next player to be appointed and apply once it shows 49/50 — otherwise your application lands in the overflow list and you may never get appointed.
If the queen’s post on your server isn’t auto-assigned but handed out by the king, you can message her and ask to speed up your place in the queue for the post you want!
